Graveside service for Rubena Virginia Jolly Reeves will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Cache Cemetery.

Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Rubena Virginia Jolly Reeves, age 95, died peacefully at her home near Cache on Monday, March 7, 2016. Rubena was born on November 16, 1920 in Fletcher to Stanford Denton and Lola Johnson Jolly. Rubena was the fourth of seven sisters. She graduated from Fletcher High School, then earned her Bachelors Degree in Home Economics from Oklahoma College for Women where she was a member of De Gamma Ve. After teaching for one year in a one-room school at Sandy Grove in Grady County, she came to Cache High School as the Home Economics teacher in 1943. Rubena married Clint Reeves on January 18, 1947. In 1961 they adopted a son, Ray.

Rubena taught Vocational Home Economics for 39 years, having a positive impact on the lives of thousands of young people. She retired in 1981 and received the Helen Jensen Award for Outstanding Oklahoma Vocational Home Economics Teacher. She then moved to Logan county where Clint was a foreman of a ranch. They moved back to Cache, to the family homestead in 1994 when Clint retired. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Cache United Methodist Church.

Rubena is survived by her husband, Clint; four grandchildren: Charley, Chad, Clinton Joe, and Luke Reeves; eleven great-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and providers, Gary and Melody Seigler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her six sisters: Velma Ridgway, Thelma Seals, Vinnie Mae Howell, Lola Lee Fried, D. June Caldwell, and Mary Emma Ramsey; and by her son, Ray.
