Funeral service for Roswitha "Rose" Maria Barber will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church Lawton, Oklahoma with Bro. Eddie Coast, Pastor officiating.

Burial will be private family under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Family will greet friends 5:00-7:00pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Roswitha "Rose" Maria Barber, age 85, of Lawton, passed away Sunday morning, September 11, 2022.

She was born December 22, 1936, in Oberstreu, Bavaria, Germany, the daughter of the late Richard and Emma Lörzel. She grew up in Germany surrounded by her 5 brothers and 6 sisters. She came to the states in 1958. On a trip back to Germany to visit family, she met her husband, William Barber. They were married and had four children that she loved dearly. She worked at daycares before opening a daycare out of her home after the loss of her husband. She spent years caring for many children as her own. Rose was a person of strong faith who loved the Lord and spent a lifetime doing good works in his name. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She spent her life loving and praising her God, loving her family, and caring for children.

Rose is survived by her son Andrew Jack Barber, of Phoenix Arizonia. Her daughter Sherrie Harrison, of Lawton, Oklahoma. Her son William Barber and his wife Paula Barber, of Lawton, Oklahoma. Her son Carey Allen Barber and his wife Felesha Barber, of Lawton, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Sara Campbell-Pratt, Amanda Alexander, Justin Skeen, Megan Brown, Ross Johnson, Hannah Barber, William Harrison, Gabby Barber, and Andrew Barber. Great-Grandchildren: Campbell Pratt, Lexie Alexander, Daphne Pratt, Liberty Pratt, and Wyatt Brown. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband William Paul Barber, her son-in-law David Lee Harrison, and her Grandson-in-law Tobias Christoph Alexander.
