Funeral Mass for Rosemary B. Morales will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Buettner, Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rosemary B. Morales, age 92, Lawton, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 in Lawton.  She was born March 20, 1925 in Lawton to Robert and Sue Ballew. She was a 1942 graduate of Lawton High School, attended Our Lady of the Lake College, San Antonio, Texas and Oklahoma College for Women, Chickasha.  She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Cameron University and her Master's Degree from the University of Oklahoma.

She married Ray Newman, Jr. on November 11, 1944 in Lawton.  They lived in Turkey, Italy and Germany.  On July 10, 1974 she married Richard Morales.  She served as organist for St. Barbara Catholic Church and Holy Family Catholic Church for 30 years.  She was the Religious Education Coordinator for St. Barbara Catholic Church, taught school in the Lawton Public Schools system and retired from Fort Sill Artillery School after 19 years where she was an Education and Training Specialist.

She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity and a former member of Square Topper's Square Dance Club and Hill Topper's Round Dance Club.  She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Hakimipour, Orlando, Florida, Jane and Raymond Miles, Baltimore, Maryland and Laura and Marshall Clevenger, Lawton; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Carolyn Newman, Duncan and Robert and Cova Newman, Lawton; grandchildren and spouses, Rosemary Hakimipour, Andrew and Suzanne Hakimipour, Melanie Hakimipour, Tiffany Hakimipour, Emily Hakimipour, Amy and Chris Morgan, Michael and Huong Newman, Mark and Annye Newman, Melissa and Matt Kraus, Aaron Newman, David Newman, Elizabeth Erin Brown, Kathryn Ray and Jimmi Combs, Sara Catherine and William Low, Kristen Jane Clevenger, Jennifer Stamper and Lara and Jimmy Pesek; great grandchildren, Stephen Hakimipour, Jason Hakimipour, Alex Hakimipour, Haley Newman, Brett Newman, Garrett Kraus, Gage Kraus, Gracie Rae Kraus, Gavin Stamper, Carsen Stamper, Avery Pesek, Madelyn Morgan, Christian Morgan, Ryan David Evans, Chelsea Newman and Linus Newman.

Her parents, a daughter, Carol Suzanne Newman, son-in-law, Fred Hakimipour, and her former husband, Ray Newman, Jr., preceded her in death.
