Rosemary Cox, age 93, of Lawton, OK passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026 in Oklahoma City, with family by her side.
She lived a remarkable life—one characterized by deep faith, fierce love for her family, generosity, and a willingness to give of herself for those she loved.
Rosemary was born August 2, 1933 in Geronimo, Oklahoma to Samuel and Ada (Gipson) Green. She was married to the love of her life, John (Jay) Cox, for 72 years before his passing in 2024. Their marriage was a beautiful testimony of enduring love, faithfulness, and commitment. Together they built a life and a family that became one of their greatest joys and legacies.
Rosemary was a devoted mother to her four children. She loved them fiercely and gave sacrificially to provide them with a loving home and a strong foundation for life. Her love for her family only grew as the generations expanded. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them.
Her faith in God was central to who she was. Jay and Rosemary shared a fervent love for God and served Him fervently throughout their lives. They shared a deep desire to further the Gospel through generous giving, planting seeds of faith that reached far beyond what they could ever see this side of Heaven.
Rosemary was quite creative and energetic. She was a woman who could envision something and then find a way to make it happen. Over the course of 93 years, she accomplished an extraordinary amount and used her creativity and abilities in countless ways including growing an insurance agency alongside her husband, homemaking, raising and showing quarter horses, and eventually construction of new homes.
She will be remembered for her determination, sense of humor, generosity, and devotion to God and to those she loved.
Rosemary is survived by Mary Cox-Berry (daughter), John A. Cox, Jr. (son), Beverly Regan (daughter), and Judy Mosesman (daughter). Jay and Rosemary had seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life will be held with her beloved family.
