Funeral service for Roger Arthur Smith of Lawton, Oklahoma, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Paradise Valley Baptist Church, north of Lawton, with Donny Crittendon officiating.

Burial will be in Paradise Valley Cemetery, north of Lawton, under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Roger Arthur Smith, age 73, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 in Lawton. Roger was born May 19, 1944 in East Boston, Massachusetts to the late Elwin and Dorothy (Leman) Smith and grew up in Paramus, New Jersey. Later, Roger moved to Chicago, Illinois where he lived most of his life and just recently moved to Lawton to be near his son and his family. He was an amazing man with a generous heart and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include four children; Lauren and husband Rick Smith-Pizza, Gregory R. and wife Elizabeth Smith, Kelley Zellek and Cherri Seapan who were both adopted; two brothers, David and wife Diane Smith and Craig and wife Diane Smith; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott A. Smith.
