Funeral service for Roger D. Reed, 70, Marlow, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Reed died Tuesday, January 7, in Oklahoma City. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery. Mr. Reed was born March 30, 1943 in Cement, Oklahoma, to Grady and Ruth (Talbert) Reed. He grew up in Cement and was a graduate of Cement High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for six years. Following his discharge he worked as a machinist for thirteen years and then worked for Gilt Edge and Hiland Dairy for 28 years until his retirement. At the time of his death he was employed part-time with Ace Hardware in Duncan. He married LaNita Buchwald on May 16, 1985 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He is survived by his wife, of the home; five children and their spouses, Roger D. "Jake" Reed, Jr. and Kim, Anadarko, Oklahoma, Larry D. and Sarah Reed, Hickory Creek, Texas, Kelli and Mike Johnson, Elizabeth, Colorado, Vicki and David Ussery and Gina and Charles Glass, all of Marlow, Oklahoma; a sister and brother in law, Janie and Jay Jones, Enid, Oklahoma; two brothers and a sister in law, Darrell Reed, Pond Creek, Oklahoma, and Paul and Becky Reed, Haines City, Florida; 20 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His parents, a son, Jeff Rothell, and two sisters, Christine Shaw and Marie Davis, preceded him in death.
