Roberta Lois Rajeski, commonly known as "Birdie" to many of her loved ones was called home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the age of 77 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Roberta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Roberta began her journey in life on November 25, 1947 in South San Francisco, California, where she spent her formative years with her parents, Donald and Doris (Davis) Wetzstein alongside her two brothers, Harold and Ronald. Roberta was the oldest of the siblings. From an early age, Roberta had a heart of gold, a fun-loving attitude and honest spirit, traits that would define her throughout her life.
On June 22, 1968, Roberta married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Joseph D. Rajeski, just one month before he was shipped off to Vietnam. The two were inseparable. Roberta intentionally repeated her senior year to continue high school so the two would graduate together. Joe and Roberta could be found every Friday night on the "Line", El Camino Blvd. of South San Francisco where the two would race Joe's fast cars with all that dared the challenge. On Saturdays, they would be at the A&W in San Mateo, enjoying a hamburger and hanging out with friends. Roberta graduated from beauty school, however, found her real calling in being a homemaker.
Roberta and Joe moved to Concord, California in 1976 to raise their son and daughter. Together they enjoyed over two decades there while Joe built an automotive repair business and Roberta supported his endeavors and maintained the home looking after their children until they married and moved out. In her leisure time, Roberta enjoyed decorating her home, listening to music, spending time with the grandchildren and going on late night shopping trips with her daughter.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Joseph D. Rajeski, daughter, Tracy Glenn and husband Philip of Lawton, Oklahoma, son, Joseph Rajeski and wife Rebecca of Clayton, California, five grandchildren, Alexandria Ramey, Paige Klein, Cyrus Rajeski, Isaiah Rajeski and Anika Rajeski, two brothers, Harold Wetzstein and Ronald Wetzstein who will all carry her memory forward with love and honor.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Doris (Davis) Wetzstein, father-in-law, Joseph Rajeski and mother-in-law, Virginia Rajeski.
Roberta's legacy is one of love, forgiveness, and generosity. She touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving behind a wealth of unforgettable memories.
