Funeral service for Robert S. Phillips will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Lawton First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Brock Greenhill, Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Robert S. Phillips, age 82, Cache, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 in Oklahoma City.  He was born December 27, 1934 in Winter Haven, Florida to Robert B. and Hildred Phillips.  He grew up in Florida and Tennessee.  He married Carolyn Daugherty on February 1, 1959 in Oklahoma City.

He was a graduate of Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma, and obtained his Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Oklahoma.  He began his career working in the library at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  Robert came to work for Cameron University in 1974 and retired in 2000 as the Director of the Library.

He attended First Church of the Nazarene.  He was a 32 ^nd degree Mason and an expert Ham radio operator using the call sign W5UYD.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Julie Phillips, San Antonio, Texas, and Brian and Sheila Phillips, Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Rachel Phillips, Benjamin Phillips, Taylor Phillips and Grace Phillips; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Linda Phillips, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Kevin Payne, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

His parents, his sister and brother-in-law, Julia and John Kelly, and his brother, Joseph Phillips, preceded him in death.
