Memorial service for Rita Schmahl Polley will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2020 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.

Rita Schmahl Polley, 83, Lawton passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at her home in Lawton.  She was born October 31, 1936 in Duryea, Pennsylvania to Edward and Adella (Sapolis) Yaverski.

Rita was a homemaker, but was actively involved in her children's lives.  She was a den mother and past president of the PTA.  Rita was the Beta Sigma Phi "Woman of the Year," was a big sports and OU Sooners fan, and an avid bowler.  She bowled in the Senior League at Thunderbird Lanes in Lawton, and was proud of her "all spare game".  She was affectionately known to all the children in the neighborhood as "Grandma".

She is survived by her 5 children: Debra Agnew of Yukon, Oklahoma, Donna Marie Ellsworth and husband David K. of Lawton, David Schmahl and wife Janet of Lawton, Daniel Paul Schmahl and wife Dana of Lawton, Dennis Troy Schmahl and wife Elizabeth of Tucson, Arizona, her sister Ann Murray and husband Pete of Tucson, Arizona, 7 grandchildren: Kerry Weaver and husband Fred and  Brian Foster and wife Jillian, both of Yukon, Oklahoma, Christina Daily, Brandon Ellsworth and wife Kim and Stephanie Stamper and husband Travis, all of Lawton and Brittany Schmahl and Hailey Schmahl, both of Tucson, Arizona.  She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren: Dominick Weaver, Caleb Weaver, Dawson Ooley, Dalton Ooley, Aven Weaver, Raeya Weaver, Brynn Foster, Addison Foster, Brynli Ellsworth, Brayella Ellsworth, RyLee Stamper and Carter Stamper.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law Robin Schmahl.
