Graveside service for former Lawton resident, Rita C. Gibson, will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 1, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Rita C. Gibson, age 78, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024 in Gatesville, Texas.  She was born September 9, 1946 in Oney, Oklahoma to John Charles and Nona Marie (Snider) Jenkins.  She married Gerold  George on June 13, 1964 in Lawton.  She later married MAJ (Retired) Calvin T. Gibson, Jr. on December 18, 1992 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He died April 21, 1997.  Mrs. Gibson lived for her grandkids and great grandkids.  She was a baseball nana and a great fishing buddy.

Survivors include her daughter, Kendra Bloomer, Lawton, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Karen George, Evant, Texas, six grandchildren and their spouses, Payton George and Andrea, Garrett Bloomer and Laura, Jared George and Taylor, Christian George and Kari, Shayla Smith and Kaylie Mendez and Martin, thirteen great grandchildren, a sister, Christine Crawford and a brother, Charles Jenkins and his wife, Anna.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
