Graveside funeral service for Richard Gene "Rick" Fanning will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026 in Letitia Cemetery.

Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Richard Gene "Rick" Fanning died Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 72. He was born December 16, 1953, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Billy Andrew and Lois (Jaggars) Fanning.

Rick was united in marriage to Maxine Ann Morris on February 13, 2012, in Walters, Oklahoma.

Throughout his life, Rick worked as a landscaper and later as a custodian for Calvary Assembly of God, the church he faithfully attended. He took great pride in his work and in serving his church family.

Rick was a man of many interests and talents. He was especially musically gifted and found great joy in sharing that gift with others. He was also an avid firearms enthusiast.

He will be remembered for his dedication, his talents, and the love he shared with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; three children, Alisa Fanning, Andrew Fanning and wife Tasha, and Joseph Fanning; three grandchildren, Mason, Hunter and Elena; his brother, Mike Fanning; and a nephew, Billy Fanning.

His parents preceded him in death.
