Requiem Mass for Resureccion L. Lonzanida will be at 9:30 am Monday, January 11, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Alexis Davila, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.

Viewing and visitation with family will be on Sunday, January 10, from 3-5 pm at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Grandma/Mom passed away in Westminster, Colorado, January 3, 2016. She was 88 years old. She lived a cheerful life embracing everyone around her with a sincere heart and open-minded humanity. With her timid smile and soft voice, she embodied human connections, gratitude and appreciation, most significantly a strong faith to God. Grandma/Mom is the heart of the family. She is the light that guides the path of every family member. Because of her, we continually grow to be better human beings than what we were.

She could easily spark friendship and make you love her. Even to those she just met, she would say, "You are beautiful/handsome…. I mean it !"

People commonly describe her: "She is a joy . . . She is a sweetheart . . . She is a sweetie . . . She is a cutie . . . !"

Resureccion was born March 30, 1927 in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines. She was actively involved in community service. She was elected twice as Dirita Barangay Captain, the first female who served that office. She also called Hawaii and Colorado home for several years.

She is survived by her loving husband, Avelino; her children, Revelino and Lynn, daughter-in-law Bernadette; grandchildren, Abigail and Lyndon.

She is also survived by two younger sisters, Patrocenia and Rebecca, as well as beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
