Graveside service for Rebecca Ann "Becky" DeGraw will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Ryan Cemetery in Ryan, Oklahoma. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents and son.

Becky DeGraw, age 70, of Lawton, Oklahoma, died peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital with her oldest son and his wife at her bedside. She was born May 5, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the first of four children, to Willie and Dorothy (Pritchard) Smart.

Becky grew up in numerous towns across northern Texas and southern Oklahoma, attending Old High School in Wichita Falls Texas and Waurika High School in Oklahoma. Her desire to stay close to her nomadic parents meant that she lived in multiple cities in Oklahoma, Texas and Ohio throughout her life before she finally settled down in Lawton.

As a mother to three boys, Becky always told them that they could be anything that they wanted to be when they grew up, as long as they were willing to work for it. She modeled that for them, when as a young working mother, she went to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Becky proudly worked in healthcare as a nurse for more than thirty years and deserves to be honored for the positive impact that she had on countless lives.

Throughout her adult life Becky enjoyed reading horror novels, gardening, ceramics, and in her later years she learned how to knit. But by far, Becky loved fishing more than any other hobby or pastime. Ask any family member about Becky and they will surely have a story or two about her on a shore or bank with a line in the water.

We should all be as lucky as Becky, in that some of the best years of her life were her last. This was because she spent her last six years married to a wonderful man, Bud DeGraw. Bud cared for and cherished her in a way that brought her joy and happiness to the end.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud DeGraw, and her youngest son, William Ray King.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Michel and wife Misty, and Richard Michel and wife Sarah, grandchildren to include, Thomas Michel and wife Dinah Gregory Michel, Richard Michel, Grace Michel and Pierce Michel, one great-grandchild, Lance Michel, with another on the way, sister, Kathy Brackett and brothers, Lynn Smart and Rudy Rivera.
