He was born October 18, 1926 at the family home place, Southwest of Snyder, to John N. and Bertha (Emmons) Hall. He grew up as the only child in a farming family that grew cotton, grain and raised cattle. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1944 and attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU) briefly before enlisting in the US Army. He served in the Philippines and Japan during WW II. On March 3, 1945 he married LuRetta Edens in Lampasas, Texas. This year they would have celebrated 63 years of marriage. He began his career in the Farmers Cooperative system in 1955 and retired in 1991. In 1955 he was the Snyder Coop Gin assistant manager, and was promoted to manager in 1958. That summer's harvest put R.C. in the limelight when the grain came in more plentiful than the storage capacity at the Coop. He was forced to store the grain in the streets of Snyder, and the event was featured in the Saturday Evening Post. Shortly after storage was obtained for two hundred seventy thousand bushels of grain, and a modern gin was built and assets of the Coop doubled. He served the Farmers Coop Association for sixteen years. In 1961 he left the Snyder Coop to serve as secretary for the Cooperative Ginners Association of Oklahoma for one year and then returned to the Coop. In 1971 he went to work for the Oklahoma Cotton Cooperative Association Compress in Altus, a part of Plains Cotton Cooperative Association. He retired in 1991 from OCCA then president of PCCA, C.L. , then retired from much of OCCA's growth and building programs with 32 years of service in 1993. He was a member of the Board of Cooperative Ginners Association of Oklahoma, a member of the advisory committee of the Producers Cooperative Oil Mill of Oklahoma and the Agricultural Cooperative Council. His numerous awards and recognitions include the Degree of Honorary State FFA Farmer in Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University's Award as Outstanding Grain Person, the Horace Hayden trophy for Outstanding Cotton Ginner, honorary member of several FFA chapters, served on the board of Farmers Co-Op Grain Dealers in Enid, the board of the Triangle Insurance Agency, Advisory Committee Member of the Wichita Bank for Cooperatives, the Oklahoma Agricultural Council and the American Institute of Cooperation, delegate to the National Cotton Council, President of the Cotton Growers Warehouse Association in 1978, The Oklahoma Grain Industry Hall of Fame, and the Outstanding Grain Dealers Award of Oklahoma State University. In 2004 he received the Triangle Cooperative Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2005 he was awarded the Outstanding Snyder Alumnus award.
