Funeral services for Phyllis G. Leonhart Ziegler, 82, Lawton, will be at 10:00 am Saturday at the Lawton Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Michelle D. McCarty, Pastor, officiating. Mrs. Ziegler went to be with Jesus Wednesday in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. She was born February 27, 1930 in White Heath, Illinois to Charles and Grace (Blank) Olson, the youngest of seven children. She married her first husband Maurice Leonhart on September 11, 1955 in Monticello, Illinois. He died on March 8, 1991 in Lawton. She married August Ziegler on August 1, 1998 in Lawton. She was affectionately known as "Miss Phyllis" to the many children she cared for through the years and "Nana" to her grandchildren. She was kind hearted to everyone and would help anyone in need. Mrs. Ziegler was a longtime member of Lawton Heights United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of the home; three daughters, Grace Leonhart and husband Dave Culley, Emmet, Arkansas, Mary Leonhart, Heidelburg, Germany and Betsy and husband Dave Doucette, Plano, Texas; two grandsons, Grant Doucette and Ben Doucette; three sisters; a brother; several brothers and sisters in law; many nieces and nephews; and also many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband; her parents; two brothers; several sisters in law; several brothers in law and other relatives.
