Age 68, Lawton - Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Olivet Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Fincher, Pastor, and Lon Parks, officiating. Mrs. Schmitt died Sunday in Lawton. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. She was born November 15, 1940 in Walters, Oklahoma, to Earl R. and Mary Deed (Smith) Boren. She was a 1957 graduate of Comanche High School and attended Business College. She married Jerry R. Schmitt on September 1, 1962 in Byers, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1998. She worked as the manager of the West Gore Mini Storage from 1984 until the time of her death. She had been a member of Olivet Baptist Church since 1998 and enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She is survived by her son, Mark Allen Schmitt, Lawton; a granddaughter, Sara Schmitt, Yukon, Oklahoma; a sister, Shirley Gaines, Waurika, Oklahoma; a sister in law, Carol Boren, Denton, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends; a very special friend, Ralph McDaniel, Elgin Her parents, and a brother, Bobby Boren, preceded her in death.
