Age 84, Lawton - Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Thursday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Sewell died Saturday in Lawton. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born January 2, 1926 in Faxon to William Shell and Lou (Cox) Gifford. She married Johnnie Van Sewell on March 3, 1943 in Lawton. He died July 19, 1982. Mrs. Sewell had worked as a sales clerk at Gibson's for over thirty years. Survivors include three sons and their spouses, Grover R. Sewell, Lawton, Clifford D. and Jan Sewell, Neosho, Missouri and David and Patty Sewell, Lawton, two daughters, Katherine Brown, Salem, Alabama and Melva Jo Thomas, Phoenix, Arizona, two sisters, Bonnie Gregory, Malakoff, Texas and Ruthie Shaw, Roseburg, Oregon, 22 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, four sisters, a son, Fred Sewell, daughter, Marilyn Hutchens and a great granddaughter, Angel Sewell.
