Funeral service for Paul L. "Shorty" Lebel, Sr., 78, Lawton, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Lebel died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Frederick, Oklahoma. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. He was born May 26, 1935 in Lynn, Massachusetts to Arthur and Evelyn (DeRosier) Lebel. He grew up in Massachusetts and served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 until 1956. He had worked as a plumbing contractor for many years having worked for Brown & Root and later owned and operated Shorty's Heat & Air. He was a member of the Refrigeration Service and Engineering Society. He is survived by three sons, Paul Lebel, Jr., Lawton, Gary Lebel, Washington, North Carolina, and Rod Lebel, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Maria Summerville, Jacksonville, Florida, and Michelle Matthews, New Orleans, Louisiana; several grandchildren, one great grandchild and a great grandchild soon to be born; a sister Rosey Pappas, Hudson, New Hampshire. His daughter, Cheryl Lebel, preceded him in death.
