Funeral service for Paul R. Selvey will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William F. Watkins officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Paul R. Selvey, age 89, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born on June 17, 1936, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, to Elmer James and Dorothy Mildred (Olsen) Selvey. Paul grew up in Mt. Vernon and was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, Class of 1954.

In 1959, Paul was drafted into the United States Army, a journey that ultimately brought him to Fort Sill. While stationed there, he met the love of his life, Betty Jean Cole. The two were united in marriage on April 1, 1961, in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Paul worked briefly at Cole's Cleaners before beginning a long and dedicated career with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Known by company badge number 139, he devoted 24 years of service to Goodyear before retiring.

Paul was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities over the years, including as a deacon and as a volunteer sound technician.

Paul is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Dana Dorsey and Suzanne and Jeff Means; and five grandchildren, Colin Gaskins, Sean Gaskins, Garrett Means, Wyatt Means and Jordan Means.
