'Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.'
John 14:1-3

Oweida Curley Loud, age 84, was born April 15, 1937, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Willie T. Ward, Sr. and Luella Ward.
She attended school in Lawton and assisted in caring for her siblings. She was united in Holy Matrimony at a young age to her first and only husband, Booker T. Loud, on September 15th, 1953. Together, they made and raised a family of twelve children, to which Oweida was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker for mostly all of her adult life, up to and through the graduation of her youngest child.
Even beyond the graduation of her youngest, Oweida continued in motherly service to her many grandchildren. She was an extraordinary example of caring for others, having made many friends throughout the Lawton area. Over the course of her life, she was a member of several churches in the Lawton community: Union Baptist Church; Cache Road Baptist Church; God's Family Community Church and Northwest Baptist Church, among others.
Oweida's spiritual walk and relationship with Christ was a very important part of her life. She loved the bible, its logic, its order, its historical events and its Truth that it provided her in life. One of her favorite quotes from Scripture comes from the very lips of Christ himself: "Let not your heart be troubled." She would share this quote from the 14th chapter of John's gospel often when people confided in her about their worries.
Oweida had several talents that she enjoyed in her life, such as knitting, woodworking, home-improvement tasks and collecting old, discarded items for restoration purposes. In this she was exceptionally resourceful, seeing the usefulness in broken items that others had cast aside. Similarly, she was often this way towards people, understanding them as individuals of value who needed love, a listening ear and encouragement. Even in her older years, Oweida focused much of her energy caring for people, both older and younger than she, providing them food items, meals and driving them to appointments and other important destinations. She was a generous soul, sharing much of her time, energy and personal resources with those in need. With such a kind heart to strangers, many people thought of her as their mother.
Mrs. Oweida Loud departed her life on the afternoon of September 16, 2021, after a brief but sudden illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, and siblings, Pearl, Lois, Arthur, Willie T. Jr., Winston and Elnora.
Cherishing Oweida's memory are her surviving daughters and sons: Prinscella Abbs of Houston, Texas; Sherrynne Victorian of Houston, Texas; Booker T. Loud, Jr. of Houston, Texas; Petrena Reed of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Clarissa Davis of Lawton, Oklahoma; Tapale Layton of Bullhead City, Arizona; Miranda Davis of Houston, Texas; Lionell Loud of Lawton, Oklahoma; Landon Loud of Edmond, Oklahoma; Lardale Loud of Dallas, Texas and LouQuain Loud of Grovetown, Georgia.
Oweida Loud is also survived by her sisters, Hazel Spriggs of Lawton, Verma Perry of Lawton, Barbara Ward of Oklahoma City and her brother, Roy Ward of California.
Dear to Oweida's heart are her "twelve beautiful children," her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as the new generation to carry on her precious, beloved memory.
