Funeral service for Orvie Ray Fields will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2019 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Elder Stephan Ellis officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Orvie Ray Fields, 83, Lawton passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, peacefully with his wife and family at bedside. He was born June 21, 1936 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to Ernest Ray and Hellan Fields.  He met his wife Mildred Jean Sokot and they were married April 20, 1957 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.   Together they had five sons, Greg Fields, Michael Fields, Jeff Fields, Scott Fields and Matthew Thomas Fields who died at birth.  They moved to Lawton in 1978, where Orvie went to work for Goodyear and retired after 43 years in maintenance and engineering.  He had many co-workers and friends that he would still call family to this day.  Orvie was a church trustee and member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for over 40 years.  Orvies children and grandchildren will always remember the times they enjoyed on the many vacations they took through the years.  He will be greatly missed. Orvie is survived by his wife Mildred Jean, their 3 sons, Greg, Michael and Jeff, 8 grandchildren, Tim Fields, James Fields, Nathan Fields, Shawna Fields, Brian Fields and Therese-Marie Fields.  He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, his sister and brother-in-law, Gale and Chick Williams, and great friends Jean and Jo Constinteno, whom Orvie and Mildred went to dinner with every Wednesday night.

Orvie was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, Scott and Matthew Thomas, grandson Justin Fields and his sister Mary Davis.
