He was stationed in the China, Burma and Indian Theater and worked on a variety of fighter, bomber and surveillance aircraft. He was injured in a glider accident where he spent 100 days in a Calcutta hospital recovering before being sent back to his unit in Burma. He married Robbie May Champion of Fort Cobb on June 26, 1940. She worked in the General Accounting Office in Washington DC while Oliver served in World War II. After the war, Oliver and Robbie returned to the Lawton area to begin a family, start their own farm and to resume his career with the Army, but this time in Civil Service as a Chief of Inspectors at a civilian motor pool at Fort Sill. He retired from Fort Sill in 1972, with over 30 years of service, but he increased his farming activity after that. Oliver and Robbie had two sons, Robert and Gaylon. Robert and Gaylon graduated from Oklahoma State University as engineers. Oliver is survived by his two sons, Robert, of Haltom City, Texas and Gaylon and wife Anne of Broken Arrow, Ok. Oliver had four granddaughters Melissa and Melanie, and Gina and Sarah (5 including Becca Frazier) and 4 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Luc and Robbie, and Madaline. He is also survived by his nieces Marilyn, Karen and Brenda and nephew John Herbert and many loving and caring relatives and friends in the Lawton area and throughout the US. Oliver was preceded in death by his loving wife Robbie, parents, William and Emma Pinc, brother Herbert Pinc and wife Nova Merle, and most of his generation. Oliver retired from farming in 1998 when Robbie became ill. They had a long, prosperous and enjoyable life together. They had been married nearly 60 years when Robbie passed away from a stroke in March of 2000. They travelled a lot together, shared their social and civic activities together and enjoyed their grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family. Oliver was active in many groups, including the American Legion, VFW, various bowling teams, the Knife and Fork Club, the First Christian Church of Lawton, and was on the Bishop ISD School Board for 36 years.
