Celebration of Life for Naoma Louise Addington will be from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the VFW Post 5263, 103 NE 20th Street, Lawton, Oklahoma 73507.
Naoma Louise Addington passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on September 18, 1945, in Wise County, Virginia, to Missouri (Tootie) Ann Lawson and Garland (Pete) Lawson.
She grew up in Banner Holler, Virginia where she attended Banner School and Coeburn High School. Louise met the love of her life Bill at a church revival, and they were later married on June 22, 1963. To this union were two sons, Ron Lee Addington and Billy Ray Addington, Jr.
Growing up a coal miner's daughter and the oldest child, she spent a lot of time caring for her siblings. Circumstances forced her to drop out of school to care for the family, but this did not stop her from getting her GED years later in 1975.
As a devoted military wife, the family moved around a lot living in Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Myers, Virginia, Fort Lewis, Washington, Fort Ord, California, Baumholder, Germany, and finally in Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma where she lived out her remaining years. During her time as a military wife, she worked at CIP as a seamstress on Fort Sill and retired from Ebisch Cleaners. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and being involved in her children's and grandchildren's sports. She cherished every moment with the great grandkids. Mom's favorite saying was "When it's time to go, the good Lord will take me." She is home now and in peace, mom was truly the rock of the family.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Missouri Lawson and Garland Lawson; husband, Billy Ray Addington; sisters, Mary Ellen Bellew and Darlene Lawson, brother, James (Doc) Lawson; and granddaughters, Landy Hess and Holli Galle.
She is survived by two sons, Ron Lee Addington and wife, Candace, and Billy Ray Addington, Jr., brother; Ronnie Lawson, and wife Dorothy; sister, Judy Hughes; ten grandkids, Ron Addington, Jr., Leigha Addington, Jonathon Addington, and wife Denae, Joshua Nickell, Abel Hernandez and wife Gabriela, Raymond Hernandez and wife Lin, Patricha Schopper and husband Darrel, Samantha Perez and husband Francisco, Bridgette Hess, and Holly Hess; 15 great grandkids, and many nieces and nephews.
