Funeral for Myong Ok Sowell will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at New Light United Methodist Church with Rev. Kiyoung Jeong, pastor officiaiting.

Burial will follow in Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Myong Ok Sowell, age 70, of Lawton, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 in Lawton.  She was born October 12, 1952 in Daekyo-Dong, South Korea to  Chae Kyong and Ae Cha (Pak) Kim.  She married Harold Sowell on May 10, 1984 in Seoul, South Korea.  Mrs. Sowell came to the United States in 1984.  She had worked for Singer Sewing Company, Han Sewing Company and a jewelry factory.  She was a member of New Light United Methodist Church, where everyone was just like family to her.

She is survived by her husband, of the home, two step daughters, Sherita Glanville, Frisco, Texas and Juanita M. Sowell, Chula Vista, California, a granddaughter,  Naomi Glanville and a grandson, Tyrique Glanville, both of Frisco, Texas and a sister, Son Myles and her husband, Isaac, Junction City, Kansas.
