Murriel Jennings, 86 of Lawton, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 in Wichita Falls, TX. He was born May 25, 1930 in Pauls Valley, OK to Vernon Harket and Verda Pearl (Wade) Jennings. His family moved to Lawton in 1931. He entered the US Army in February 1948 and did his basic training at Fort Jackson SC. In 1949 he was stationed at Fort Sill as a corporal. He drove short and long distance, hauling hay, wheat, fruit, gravel, oil and gas, oilfield tools and equipment and even bread for Mead's Fine Bread. His last "run" was to Florida; he retired in September of 1991. Murriel always enjoyed hunting and fishing, and after his retirement he and Daphene spent many weeks traveling, fishing and relaxing at Portabello RV Park in Aransas Pass, TX.
