Funeral service for MSG (Retired) Frank D. Ross, Sr., 81, Lawton, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel. Sergeant Ross died Wednesday, November 6, in Lawton. Burial with full military honors will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. He was born December 21, 1931 in Centerville, Kansas to Levert and Oleta Ross. He was a graduated of Centerville High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Army at Fort Sill on May 31, 1975. His awards include the Army Commendation Medal (2 awards), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6 awards) and the Meritorious Service Medal. Following his military career he retired from Arkla Gas Company. He also owned and operated several businesses including a mobile home rental company and Ross Heating & Air. He married Gisela Weidemann on March 5, 1958 in Germany. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his long-time companion, Kumiko McConkey. He was a member of the VFW, a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Noncommissioned Officer's Association. He enjoyed working, coin collecting and watching old western movies. He is survived by five children and their spouses, Peggy D. and Michael Bilbrey, Lawton, Sandra A. and Tom Cox, Reidsville, North Carolina, Diane M. Lammers, Orange Park, Florida, Marilyn O. Fuller, Middleburg, Florida, and Frank D. Ross, Jr., Lawton; two sisters, Fern Rose Wallace, Maywood, Missouri and Beth Ann Hilt, Fayetteville, Tennessee; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Sammy Wren, Travis and Shelly Bilbrey, Kayla Bilbrey, David Cox, Adrianne Lammers, Stephanie and Kevin Mofford, Mark Lammers, Shaun Lammers, April and Andrew Brunner and James Fuller; five great grandchildren; special friends, Patty (Foreman) and Richard Gonzales.
