Burial with Full Military Honors will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. *** Family will greet friends Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 2pm until 4pm. *** Don was born April 10, 1942 in Garten, West Virginia to Donald C. and Sylvia E. (Pennington) Castle. He attended Fayetteville High School in West Virginia, but was definitely a self taught man. Before finishing school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country for over twenty years. He married Barbara Lee Pierson on December 27, 1963 in Wilmington, OH. During his military career, Don started a business customizing vans and was known as the "Van Man". This was before he and his family were stationed in Germany. After his last tour of duty and his return from Germany, Don retired from the Army in 1980. He then went to work for a short period of time at the local Coca Cola plant providing security. Following his brief stint with Coca Cola, he started his own home improvement and remodeling business known as Castle Enterprise. One of Don's main goals in life was to work hard and provide well for his family. After this goal was achieved, in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and working on special projects. Don loved to tinker and make things with his hands. He read a lot and researched anything and everything seeking a challenge. There was nothing mechanical the man couldn't build or fix. However, because of his many health problems, life itself became the greatest challenge of all. Quality of life was more important to him than quantity. After nine years of pain and suffering, he now rests in peace. Don touched and influenced the lives of numerous people during his lifetime. He was a great father, loving husband, Poppy to his loving grandchildren and friend to all. He will be truly missed by all but never forgotten. We Love You Dad ! He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home, two children, Randy Castle and his wife Lisa of Oklahoma City, OK, Dawn Ellis and husband Greg of Lawton, OK, six grandchildren, Ty Ellis, Corbin Castle, Dakota Castle, Brooke Gunter, Jordin Ellis, Tanner Ellis, a brother Charles D. Castle and wife Linda of West Virginia, and two sisters, Susie Keith of West Virginia and Diane Pace and husband Michael of West Virginia. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leah M. Fitch Cancer Center, 104 NW 31st, Lawton, OK 73505, The American Heart Association, PO Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601 or to The Lawton Heights Church of the Nazarene at 1702 NW Williams, Lawton, OK 73507
