Age 88, Lawton - Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Highland Cemetery with Father Joseph R. Ross, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church officiating. Mrs. Mitchell died Saturday in Lawton. Burial will be under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born February 12, 1920 in Paris, Texas to Frank J. and Ann (McLain) Alverson. She grew up in Dallas, Texas where she graduated from St. Paul's School of Nursing. She married Dr. Joseph N. Mitchell on February 22, 1941 in Dallas. He died December 23, 1998. They moved to Lawton in 1945. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Mitchell Stafford, Lawton, two sons, Joseph N., Jr. and Janet M. Mitchell, Altus and Michael F. and Rene Mitchell, Houston, Texas, six grandsons, Richard Anthony Stafford, Jr., Mitchell Matthew Stafford, Joseph Andrew Stafford, Michael Ryan Mitchell, Tyler Anthony Mitchell and Joseph Neal Mitchell, III and two great grandsons, Vincent Mitchell and Anthony Mitchell.
