Milton Voyles, age 89, of Lawton, longed to see Jesus face to face and to be reunited with his bride; on March 15, 2018 his longings were fulfilled when he was released from his earthly body. Milton took Faye Smith to be his bride on June 1, 1952 and was heartbroken when she passed away less than a month ago. The couple enjoyed 65 years of life, love and memories together during their marriage.

Milton was born in Frisco, Oklahoma on January 2, 1929 to Clifford Coy and Lillie Mae (Creech) Voyles. He graduated from McLish High School in 1947, lettering in basketball, baseball and 4-H honors. Milton earned both a Bachelor and Master degrees from East Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma. With the exception of a brief time serving in the Army, Mr. Voyles was a career educator. He taught Math for many years at Eisenhower High School until retiring from Lawton Public Schools over 30 years ago. When Milton wasn't teaching school, he was gardening, tending bees, cooking breakfast or building something.

Milton loved and faithfully served his church. He was a member of Lawton Heights Church of the Nazarene for 50+ years. Milton served on the Southwest Oklahoma Nazarene District Camp Board for many years. At Lawton Heights he was church treasurer, Sunday School Director and managed buildings and grounds until his health declined. Milton was a Godly man of integrity and justice but also tender-hearted and compassionate.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lillie Voyles, his wife, Faye Voyles and his brother, Raymond L. Voyles. He is survived by his son; Glen Voyles of Lawton, his daughter Gayle (Gayedawn) Voyles of Lawton, along with many loving friends and family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lawton Heights Church of the Nazarene, 1702 NW Williams Ave., Lawton, OK 73507.
