Age 93 and a resident of Carrollton, Texas passed away May 26, 2009. Genelle was born Aug 10, 1915 in Blair, Oklahoma to Dilmus and Jessie Maudie Smith Walker. She is survived by her daughter Suzy Self and husband Tom and by her son Frank Rush III and wife Vickie. Genelle and Frank Rush have three grandchildren Tom F Self, David Rush and Jodi Rush Cuccurullo and three great grandchildren TJ Self, Whitney Rush and Taylor Cuccurullo. Genelle survived her husband E. Frank Rush. They were married 71 years prior to his passing in 2005. They met at the age of 13 while skating at the Rush family's Craterville Park near Lawton, Oklahoma. Married at 18, the couple and their family also own and operate Sandy Lake Amusement Park in Carrollton, Texas since 1971. Genelle was a member of First United Methodist Church of Carrollton, a founding member of the Wichita Mountain Wildflower Garden Club, an accomplished pianist, a skilled horsewoman and she enjoyed pheasant hunting in South Dakota with her late husband Frank. The couple attended the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City and Las Vegas for many years. A celebration of life will be held at Dalton and Son Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas on Sunday, May 31, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A service will also be held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 1:00pm at Becker Funeral Home in Lawton, Oklahoma with graveside services to follow at Highland Cemetery in Lawton.
