Funeral service for Mickie C. Tallent will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Willoughby officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Serenity Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mickie C. Tallent, age 86, Lawton, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at her residence.  She was born in Sendai, Japan on January 23, 1932.  She grew up in Japan where she attended nursing school and earned her PhD in nursing.  She worked as a nurse in Japan and while working met Walter Tallent.  They were married on June 18, 1957 in Japan.

Mickie moved to the United States in 1958 and later would become a U.S. Citizen.  She retired from Civil Service at Fort Sill in 1994 having worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Reynolds Army Community Hospital.

She was an outstanding Ping-Pong player and while in Japan was a ping pong champion.  She enjoyed knitting as well as many other things including going to the casino.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; a son Doug Tallent and Joanna Johnson, Yukon, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Kathryn Nichols and Bryan and Laci Young; seven great grandchildren, Nick Young, Brad Young, Jackson Nichols, Aiden Booker-Young, Keagan Booker-Young, Brooklyn Young and Peyton Young; son-in-law, Richard Young, Lawton; her brother, Shogu Cheba, Japan; her sister, Ayako, Japan; and several nieces and nephews.

Her daughter, Patricia Ann Young, two brothers and one sister, preceded her in death.
