Funeral for Michael Ward Stanley, 51, Lawton will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kim Hames, pastor of First Christian Church officiating. Mr. Stanley passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in Lawton. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Mike was born in Lawton on January 17, 1960 to Arlee Ward and Naomi Stanley. He attended Garfield Elementary, Tomlinson Junior High School and graduated from Lawton High School in 1978. He began working at Goodyear in 1983 until medically retiring in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, boating and camping and especially loved his two dogs, Annie and Molly. Mike will always be remembered for his many kindnesses and helpfulness to others. He also enjoyed working on electrical and mechanical projects whenever his health would allow. He was always lending a hand to help friends, family and neighbors in need. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Brandon Arnold, Lawton, his son Corey Stanley, Shreveport, Louisiana and his son Justin Stanley, Cache. He was a beloved grandfather to three grandsons, Garen, Weston and Ryin, of Shreveport and a granddaughter, Allison Arnold, Lawton. Other survivors are his sisters, Virginia Lucas, Lawton and Sylvia Weber and her husband David, Colorado Springs, Colorado, two nephews, Mark Minor and Rob Minor and a niece Cindy Faulkner, all of San Jose, California, also a niece Susan Crowell, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kimberly Barnthouse, Enid, Oklahoma. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law, David Lucas. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
