Funeral service for Michael John "Mike G" Garland, 39, Lawton will be 2:00 pm Monday, June 18 at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Apostle Roderick Jackson, Pastor of Salt of the Earth Church, officiating. Mr. Garland died Monday at a local Hospital.. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6 pm at the funeral home. Mike was born December 3, 1972 in Lawton to John Walter and Jeanette (Sanfellipo) Garland. He grew up in Lawton and was a graduate of Tomlinson Junior High and Lawton Senior High School. He enjoyed hanging with his family & friends, and watching all sports, especially wrestling. Mike was a die hard Wolverine (Hanta Yo/El Deguello) and Chicago Bears fan. Mike had a heart of gold, and if he ever graced your life you will probably never find a more loyal friend than Mike G. He will always be known for his grin and ear to ear smile. Survivors include one son Jayden and his mother Kim, Lawton; Mike's mother, Jeanette Rouser, of the home; father and stepmother, John Walter and Gladys Garland, Columbus, Ohio; three brothers, Victor Garland, Joseph Rouser, both of Lawton and Jason and wife Janay Rouser, Florida; a sister, Ryan Garland, Virginia; maternal grandparents, Salvatore and Wilma Castellano, Lawton; a close friend, Robin Haumpy; mentor, teacher, father-figure, employer and very dear family friend, Joe Zuspann; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Elmer C. "Pop" Rouser; maternal grandfather, Salvatore Sanfellipo; paternal grandparents, Boysie and Nona Garland; and uncles, Larry Garland and Danny Sanfellipo.
