Age 91, formerly of Elgin - Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Elgin First Assembly of God with Rev. Larry Toma, Pastor, officiating. Mrs. Ray died Monday in Fairfield, Texas. Burial will be in the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Fletcher. She was born August 6, 1919 in Francis, Oklahoma to James Arthur and Hattie Bell (Stringer) McDonald. She grew up East of Apache before she moved to California in 1946 where she met her husband John C. Ray. They were married on September 6, 1947 in Gardena, California. They moved to Fletcher in 1974 and Elgin in 1976, where she was active in the mission work of the Elgin First Assembly of God Church. Mr. Ray died on October 12, 1998. Mrs. Ray was instrumental in starting a women's prayer group. She is survived by two daughters, five grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. Her parents and siblings preceded her in death.
