A special greeting for family and friends of Melissa Ann DeGiacomo will be held from 4-6 pm Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Melissa Ann DeGiacomo, affectionately known to many of her friends as "Spanky," passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 43.

She was born March 22, 1983, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Tony Bob and Mary Ann (Cheatwood) DeGiacomo. Melissa moved to the Lawton area in 1987 and attended Cache Public Schools through her junior year before transferring to Indiahoma High School, where she graduated.

Following high school, Melissa continued her education at a technical school, receiving training in medical terminology. Her love of animals also inspired her to pursue certification as a veterinary assistant.

Throughout her working career, Melissa held several positions, including serving as a retail manager for GNC in both Lawton and Shawnee. She was also employed by UPS in Lawton.

Melissa is survived by her parents, Tony Bob and Mary Ann DeGiacomo; her siblings, John DeGiacomo and wife Ande, Casey Daves and husband Billy, and Bryan DeGiacomo; her nephews, Blake, Cade, Aidan, Joe and Josh; her niece, Anna; and aunts and uncles, Dominie Smith and husband Jackie, Donald Cheatwood, Betty Fish, and Maggie Speakman.
