Max Edward Reese, 80, Snyder passed away quietly on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his home in Snyder. He was born November 5, 1940 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Edgar William and Lura Mae Reese. Max spent his boyhood on the farm on Elk Creek near Roosevelt, Oklahoma. He graduated from Plainview High School, Plainview, Texas in 1959. He liked working on cars and would take an old '53 Ford and turn it into a hotrod. Fixing and building things was something he did his whole life. He became a Union Iron Worker and proudly worked in the industry for 26 years. He built many buildings and structures all over the Texas Panhandle, western Oklahoma, and Missouri. He moved his family to Snyder Oklahoma in 1971 to build the C-5 Galaxy hanger on Altus Air Force Base. Snyder became home base and he and wife Betty raised their family there. In later years he became a Millwright and supervised the installation of conveyers and machines for Goodyear, Whirlpool, and many others from coast to coast. He loved fishing and all of his kids learned to walk with a fishing pole in their hands. Family time was spent fishing, hunting, and camping and tending his vegetable garden. He loved family gatherings and making everyone laugh. He never shirked a responsibility and would help anyone that needed it. He enjoyed being a Scout Master for his boys of Troop 211 and served many years on the Snyder Fire Department. He was member of First Christian Church Snyder and Southside Baptist church where he was active until declining health prevented him from attending.
He is survived by his beloved wife Betty, 6 children, 18 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
