Marylynne Marie Toy died Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the age of 99.  She was born September 20, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to Fern and Harold Webb. She started dancing at the young age of three and did so well that in 1929 she was chosen as the only solo acrobatic dancer in the week-long Christmas show at the FOX Theater, and then appeared in many shows around the city. She attended Mason Elementary School and in 1937 won first place as the most talented student in grades 4-8. In 1938 she entered Southwest High School and was lead Majorette in the Band. She was always happy to demonstrate her baton twirling. She was a member of Kappa Phi Beta Sorority in which all the girls made quilts for the war effort in Europe. After graduation in 1942 she went to St. Louis Business College where she mastered the use of a comptometer, IBM key punch and other business machines. Marylynne then obtained a job at Missouri Pacific Railroad in the payroll department where she was soon promoted to supervisor of the bookkeeping department. In 1943 she promised her high school sweetheart that she would wait for him while he served in the Navy Sea Bees in World War II.

She married William "Bill" Howard Toy on May 15, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri and continued to work while her husband attended Logan Chiropractic College until 1952 when they were blessed with their first child, James William, and two years later, with Diann Louise. Marylynne was happiest being with her family. She joined Mothers Club to be near her children and served as Secretary, Treasurer and President. She also joined their bowling league and became quite the star team member. They bought a place at Lake of the Ozarks and went every weekend so the family could spend time together. They also loved to travel and would take many adventurous family vacations. Both of her children followed in their father's footsteps to become chiropractors: Dr. James Toy, who moved to Oklahoma and Dr. Diann Kale, who married Dr. Richard Kale, also a chiropractor, and moved to Washington.

Upon retirement, she and her husband moved between Florida and the Texas Valley, where they ultimately settled. They did a lot of traveling, visiting every state and 23 other countries. They bought a motor home and joined the Tip O Tex Motor Home Club, serving as officers and traveling around the country and through Mexico. They also joined the Navy Sea Bees Auxiliary of the Veterans Association. Most importantly they would always take time to travel to graduations, weddings and birthdays in the family.

She and Bill moved to Lawton, Oklahoma in 2008, to live with their son and daughter-in-law. After her husband passed in 2011 she continued to be active, traveling on cruises and road trips with her children. She always said "I have things to do and places to go". She was also an active member of the Lawton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Family was always most important to her and she attended as many events as possible, near and far. She was known by all for her sweet disposition and loving spirit as a friend, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Marylynne is survived by her son and wife, Dr. James and Linda Toy of Lawton, Oklahoma, and her daughter, Dr. Diann Kale of East Wenatchee, Washington, by three grandchildren, Jonathan Toy and his wife, Crystal, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Heather Pooschke and her husband, Michael, of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Jason Toy and his wife, Casey, of Houston, Texas, as well as by seven great grandchildren, Brayden, Haylee, and Mason Toy of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Hallie and Maddie Pooschke of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Kevin and Claire Toy of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-in-law.
