Obituary

Maryanne Lucille Wonders Wilson, 72, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, in Lawton. She was born on December 1, 1951, to Cecil and Olive (Hendrick) DeMond, in Henderson, Nevada.

Maryanne was vivacious, outgoing, and loved life. She loved to joke around and be the life of the party. Her laugh was infectious, and she never shied away from hard work. Maryanne was sometimes bold and a little rebellious, which made things interesting. She touched many lives and will live on in the hearts and memories of her family forever. Our Rockstar!

When asked to share their favorite memories, Maryanne's grandchildren and their spouses easily and quickly made the following comments:

Richard: "Nan was always full of energy and vocal. If she didn't like something, she would let you know. She was ready to work at the drop of a hat. She loved her little dogs that were basically her children. She loved to dance and be goofy, and that's where I developed my love for dancing or just random goofiness. She also did have a bit of an attitude if she wanted and would argue and be stubborn, but we loved it. She impacted all our lives in different ways. She will be greatly missed. I love you, Nan."

Austin: "My Nan was tenacious, quick-witted, and a kind soul. She had the best sense of humor and always stayed positive. She loved her family, her dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We love you, Nan; we will miss you."

Sasha: "I will always cherish the memories we shared together and with our family. She was a selfless, generous, absolutely loving soul to everyone around her and has taught me so much that will be carried with me. I love you, Nanny."

Haley: "I'm so glad I had the chance to know you. I will never forget how, even when you were at your weakest, you still found a way to give each and every one of us a hug and a kiss on the cheek. We will surely miss you."

Davon: "I don't have a lifetime of memories with Nan, but the ones I do have are cherished. She never made me feel unwelcome or unloved. I enjoyed my time with her, whether that was just talking or helping her change her hair color. I wish my daughters had more time with their Meemaw, but we will help keep her memory alive by telling them our stories about her. Rest easy, Nan, and thank you for this wonderful family."

It is obvious that Maryanne Wilson was full of life, much loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
