Age 98, Lawton - Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tom Willoughby, officiating. Mrs. White died Sunday in Lawton. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. She was born April 28, 1910 in Comanche County, Southeast of Geronimo, on the farm homesteaded by her parents, S.H. and Ella (Johnson) George. She was a graduate of Lawton High School, Cameron Junior College and Central State University. She taught school in District 53 at the Doyle School south of Apache from 1930 until 1936 and then worked for Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City. She married Charles (D.H.) White in Oklahoma City on April 12, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1985. She had worked for Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, and Memorial Baptist Hospital in Houston, Texas. She later served as a volunteer at Southwestern Medical Center from 1975 until 2005, accumulating 11,300 volunteer hours . She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
