Graveside funeral service for Mary Lou Sylvester will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Timothy Love officiating.

Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Mary Lou Sylvester, age 88, Lawton, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her residence.  She was born October 24, 1928 in Chattanooga, Oklahoma to Albert and Ruby Johnson.  She grew up in Lawton and attended Lawton schools.  She later moved to Putnam City and worked as the head of the maintenance department with Putnam City Schools for more than 20 years.  Following her retirement she moved to Walters, Oklahoma, where she lived until moving to Lawton six years ago.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Debra McGillicuddy, Newcastle, Oklahoma; three grandchildren and their spouses, Sean and Lacie McGillicuddy, Scott and Catherine McGillicuddy and Melissa and Jason Green; six great grandchildren.

Her son, David McGillicuddy, three brothers, Johnny, Leonard and Herschel Johnson, and two sisters, Verna Vest and Wilma Evans, preceded her in death.
