Age 72, Lawton - Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Snell Cemetery at Emmet, Arkansas, with Rev. Carl Willis, officiating. Mrs. Snell died Tuesday in a Lawton hospital. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. Friends may view at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday. She was born May 20, 1936 in DeAnn, Arkansas, to Garrett and Georgie (Daffern) Willis. She grew up and graduated high school in Hope, Arkansas. She married Steve Snell, Jr. on January 21, 1955 at Emmet, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Snell was a retired educator having taught school for many years as well as working as an elementary school counselor in Lamar, Arkansas. She earned both her bachelors degree and masters degree in education from the University of Arkansas. She moved to Lawton following the death of her husband and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lawton. She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Drs. Steve and Joy Snell, Lawton; three grandchildren, Jeb, Kendra and Nancy Snell, all of Lawton; two brothers, Rev. Carl Willis, Arlington, Texas, and James Willis, Saginaw, Texas; a sister, Faye Kunze, Waco, Texas. Her parents preceded her in death.
