Age 82, Snyder - Services will be at 2:00pm Friday in the Southside Baptist Church, Snyder with her Brother-In-Law Leon Vasquez of Spur, Texas and her Great Nephew James Tobar, Lubbock, Texas officiating. Mrs. Martinez died Tuesday in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder. Family will greet friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5pm until 8pm. She was born January 28, 1928 in Waco, Texas to Emanuel M. and Beatrice (Trevino) Vargas. She was raised in Spur, Texas and married Manuel Martinez, Sr. on July 4, 1953 in Floydada, Texas. He died September 2, 1993. She was a homemaker and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She is survived by her 9 children, Sally Tarango of Snyder, David Morales, Sr. and wife Michelle of Griffith, IN, Albert Morales, Sr. and wife Lydia of Crosbyton, TX, Daniel Morales, Sr. and Rosa of Chillicothe, TX, Ruben Martinez of Lubbock, TX, Manuel Martinez, Jr. and Paula of Lubbock, TX, Becky Hannah of Snyder, OK, Ernest Morales and wife Shellene of Temple, TX, Jo Ann Phillips and husband Michael of Snyder, OK, 3 sisters, Eloisa Vasquez and husband Leon, Spur, TX, Elizabeth Nevarez of Snyder, OK, Josephine Pompa and husband Cruz of Lawton, OK, 27 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and was loved and dear to numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Baptist Church, Snyder, Oklahoma.
