Funeral service for Mary Rita (Hutchins) Rowe, 86, Lawton, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 7, in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Shelley Forrester, Rector officiating. Mrs. Rowe died Thursday, October 3, 2013 in Lawton. Burial will be in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. Mrs. Rowe was born May 21, 1927 at Sayre, Pennsylvania, to Francis and Wealthy (Birdsall) Mahoney. She grew up in Pennsylvania. She married CSM William Ned Rowe on March 20, 1946 in Virginia. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1971. She had worked at the Melody Shop in Lawton for nearly fifty years and was the longtime companion of Robert L. "Bob" Hutchins who died on August 14, 2011. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and had been active in Duck's Unlimited. She enjoyed traveling and was an excellent cook. She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Rowe and Linda Marsh and husband Ron, all of Lawton; a son, Larry Rowe and wife Peggy, Marshall, Texas; four grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Jennifer Marsh, Matthew and LaToyia Marsh, Sherry and Danny Hussey and Donna and Jonathan; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Jake Mahoney, Pine City, New York. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Ann Rowe, and three sisters and three brothers.
