Age 89, Lawton - Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Al Potts, pastor, and Rev. Dr. Daniel A. Martin, chaplain for Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma, officiating. Mrs. Gilley died Wednesday in a local care facility. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 pm. She was born October 26, 1918 in Lawton to Homer and Sarah (Rankin) Foglesong. She married Wayne W. Gilley on May 11, 1941 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. He died on September 6, 1990. She graduated from Dover High School and worked for SH Kress and Montgomery Wards. The family owned and operated Best Cleaners for many years. She was the former first lady of Lawton. She was active with the Comanche County Branch of the American Cancer Society, the Carolyn Hunt Club and the Salvation Army Auxiliary. She worked with the Lawton Historical Society on the restoration of the Mattie Beal Home. She had been an active member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her two daughters, LuWayne Irwin of Oklahoma City and Mary Helen Aguilar of Lawton; two daughters-in-law, Pat Gilley of Urbandale, Iowa and Nixie Gilley of Walters; eight grandchildren, Jodie and Patrick Quinn of Grapevine, Texas, Dennis Gilley of Urbandale, Iowa, Jamie Gilley of West Des Moines, Iowa, Shannon and Tracy McNitt of Walters, Leann and Jeff Fene of McKinney, Texas, Wayna Tyner of Oklahoma City, Gilley and Courtney Aguilar and Mariann Aguilar all of Lawton; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sons David Gilley and Bob Gilley, three brothers and a sister.
