Mary Eunice Cox, age 88, peacefully entered heaven on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Eunice was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on February 9, 1938 to Isadore Brooks and Laura Latour Brooks.
After graduating from high school, Eunice answered her calling to care for others by attending St. Anthony's School of Nursing, graduating in 1959.
Her nursing career spanned 52 years. She served patients in hospitals throughout California and Oklahoma. She joined the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a home health nurse, where leadership and dedication led her to become the District Supervisor for Oklahoma Home Health.
She met Robert W. Cox while in Nursing School. They married on September 1, 1962, resulting in three children, Jaymie Cox (Carla), Cindy Ezell (Kevin) and Allison Klingenberg (Dale).
Eunice's commitment to serving others extended beyond her profession. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawton, Oklahoma. She generously volunteered her time, serving for many years as president of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, sang in the church choir, and was a member of the advisory board for the Salvation Army. Her faith guided her life, and her compassion touched countless lives through both her ministry and her nursing.
Eunice is preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, a niece and a nephew.
She is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Eunice will be remembered for her strength, unwavering faith, and dedication to helping others. Whether caring for her patients, supporting those in need, she cherished her family. Eunice lived a full life traveling the world with family and friends. Her legacy of faith and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
