Funeral service for Mary Ivon Alvarez will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Abundant Life Church, Geronimo with Rev. Tony Elkins, Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Letitia Cemetery, east of Lawton under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the funeral home.

Mary Ivon Alvarez, 74, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Lawton.  She was born September 23, 1943 in Waurika to Oscar L. and Irene F. (Burt) McMurtry. She married Frank Alvarez (the love of her life) on June 19, 1965 in Lawton and was married for 51 years before Frank's passing on September 17, 2016.

Mary was very devoted to her church where she loved to sing. Family gave her the most pleasure especially those great grandsons. She loved being outside in her garden and caring for the beautiful flowers she planted. Mary Alvarez will be greatly missed by so many.

Mary is survived by her son, Donnie Alvarez and wife Pam of Arlington, Tennessee, son-in-law, James Riley, three grandchildren, Nicole Ellis and Levi, Jennifer Alvarez and Brice Timmons, Sydney Carson and Clay, four great grandchildren Jackson Ellis, Lincoln Ellis, Crew Carson, Finn Carson and Beau Clay Carson, three sisters, Shirley Moralez and Ray of Lawton, Rita Bowen and Wendell of Wynnewood and Linda Gregory and Joe of Geronimo, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Ronda Riley, a brother, Johnny McMurtry, and a nephew, Ricky Alandzes.
