Graveside service for Marx L. Calhoun, 72, Lawton, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015, in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Patrick Latham officiating. Mr. Calhoun died Sunday, December 28, 2014, in Lawton. Burial will be under the direction of the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. He was born August 26, 1942 in Norton, Virginia, to William M. and Cora B. (Hamilton) Calhoun. He grew up in Virginia and moved to Lawton as a teenager. He married Georgia Moralez on February 22, 1964 in Lawton. She preceded him in death on July 23, 2012. Mr. Calhoun had worked for the City of Lawton and was retired from Civil Service at Fort Sill. He also was retired from the Army National Guard. He is survived by a daughter in law, Marianne Calhoun, Lawton; three grandchildren, Aaron Calhoun, Shae Lynn Calhoun and LeAnn Marie Calhoun; several nieces and nephews. His son, Kenneth Lee Calhoun, his parents, a brother, Richard L. Calhoun, and three sisters, Sarah Straton, Virginia Flanery and Ellen Godfrey, preceded him in death.
