Funeral service for Marvin J. Seymour will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in the Fletcher Assembly of God.
Burial will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Fletcher.
Marvin J. Seymour peacefully passed in his Fletcher home surrounded by his family on Monday, May 30, 2016. Marvin was born October 18, 1923 at Acme, Oklahoma. He married Virginia L. Spray on April 23, 1949 in Oklahoma City. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2010.
Marvin lived in the Fletcher area most of his life. This is where he built a home for his wife and their daughters. He lived what some would call a simple life but he was blessed by being able to touch so many in his 92½ years, creating friendships throughout the country. Marvin will be remembered for his generosity, always offering a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. He also shared the harvest from his garden to anyone who asked. His work ethics were unbeatable, working from sunup to well past sundown in his younger years and maintaining a garden up to a month before his passing. Marvin will be remembered for his smile and conversation, never meeting a stranger. He taught too many life lessons to name them all but all of them were valuable and applicable to life.
The family who will forever carry and pass on the lessons he taught them, NEVER allowing his memory to fade are two daughters and sons in law, Kathy and David Cannon and Dede and Tory Cole, all of Fletcher; grandchildren, Kelly and Michael Lewis, Denise and Jarrod Thompson, Jessica and Gary Anderson, Henry Cole, Mollie and Buddy Tehauno and Michelle and Weldon Mills; great grandchildren, Audrey and Mathew Woodall, Alexis Lewis, Cody Lewis, Leslie Tehauno, Jimmy Tehauno, Virginia (Ginny) Anderson, Krystina Powell, Samantha Gibson, Lauren Mills and Alyson Mills; great great grandchildren, Logan and Sydney Gibson; and his nephews and a niece he helped raise, Marion Miller, Judy Jarnagin, James McKean, Billy McKean and Janet McKean.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marjorie Rury for being a life-long friend to Marvin and Virginia as well as to the rest of the family.
In going to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, he is reunited with his wife, Virginia Seymour, his parents, Henry and Dovie Seymour, his two sisters, Dorothy and Velva, his two brothers, Thomas Franklin and William Henry Seymour and many cousins and friends.
