Martha Ann Taylor, 68, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma.
A greeting for family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. 0n Sunday November 23, 2025, at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Martha Ann Taylor was born on March 7, 1957, and joined her older siblings, Terry and Dalene, as the youngest child of Billie Dale and Betty Ann (West) Taylor.
She grew up in Lawton and attended Eisenhower High School, where she was a member of the Pep Club. She competed on the American Quarter Horse show circuit from ages 9 to 17, winning frequently. Martha Ann was crowned homecoming queen during both her freshman and senior years. After graduating in 1975, she worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for several local businesses.
She married Tony Burkey in 1978, and together they welcomed their son, TJ. She later married Keith Ledford in 1994, and they welcomed their daughter, Taylor. Martha Ann was committed to her children and loved supporting them in everything they did.
Martha Ann enjoyed living in the country. She had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and found joy in caring for them throughout her life. She had a soft spot for every stray dog that crossed her path, and many of them found a true home with her. But above all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, Mason, Chandler, Tuff, and Ripp. Nothing brought her greater joy than being with them.
She is survived by her son, TJ Burkey; daughter and son-in-law, Taylor and Conner Daniel; grandchildren, Mason and Chandler Burkey, Tuff and Ripp Daniel, her sister and brother-in-law, Dalene and Chuck Dickens, her brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Robin Taylor, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
