Funeral service for Marilyn L. Weatherly will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2024 in Bible Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Weger, Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Marilyn L. Weatherly, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Born on August 31, 1944, in Lawton to Verlin and Mary (Hargrove) Ryans, Marilyn spent her entire life in her hometown. Marilyn married her beloved husband, Melvin Weatherly, on June 26, 1961, promising her father she would complete her high school education.  She kept that promise and graduated from Lawton High School in 1962.

Marilyn initially worked as a secretary for Conway and Hale Floor Covering. She later pursued a career in real estate, earning her license and working with both Parks-Jones and Coldwell Banker Realty. A  member of Bible Baptist Church, Marilyn was also known for her love of travel.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Weatherly, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Mike Meldrum, Wichita Falls, Texas and Karen and Curt Francois, Lawton, Oklahoma; four grandchildren and their spouses, Amber Francois, Lindsey and David Castro, Zachary and Stephanie Simmons and Landon and Stephanie Francois; four great grandchildren, Jakob, Madison, Alayna and Charlie; and two sisters, Ava Martin and Virginia Traughber.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Ashley Simmons.
